Brief bio: tell us a few facts about you & your interest in digital aspects of work with young people
Gwebalibatya Noeline aged 25 years is a Youth development Worker in Uganda in East Africa.
Noeline is the Program Coordinator for The Integrated Youth Empowerment project (IYEP) of Community Resource Focus (CRF), a Community Based Organization, operating in Kampala and Wakiso Districts.
The mission of the Integrated Youth Empowerment Project is to contribute to the empowerment of marginalized young people by evolving integrated development programs through capacity building, empowerment to access sustainable livelihoods and networking with other youth service providers.
The project carries out planning meetings with youth leadership and community leaders, Organizes youth ; Community out reach through drama , shows and sports activities for youths in partnership youth and community organizations; assessment of learning needs in areas HIV/AIDS and Reproductive Health , Income generation and leadership skills ; Training workshops on youth group formation ; Facilitation of formation of youth club in each parish/ village; Training workshops for Peer educators in HIV/AIDS/STDS /Reproductive Health for youths groups ; Training seminars in entrepreneurship and business management skills ; Facilitation of sports and drama activities for youth groups in the six parishes ; Organize inter-parish drama and sports competitions ; Creating a system to referring youth for Friendly Reproductive health services and Monitoring of Youth groups activities.
Noeline is also a member of youth associations namely, Uganda Change Agent association, National Youth Council, Global Youth Coalition on HIV/AIDS, Youth Action Network, YWCA and Global Youth Action Network
I really appreciate the good work you are doing sister bringing up our future pastors, doctors,prime ministers, presidents all this is through youth worker. I have just qualified in Youth and Community programme and l am based in United Kingdom and l have a vision of travelling in all parts of Africa learning and supporting Youth Work.
Hi Noeline - love the photos you put up - is great to see youth work in a different context than the UK. Would be interesting to hear your thoughts about how (and whether) you see a place for using the internet within youth work in developing nations and what issues you need to overcome with access to getting online and equipment etc.
