A great day - see for yourself!

The first (of many, I hope!) UKYouthOnline unconference was an unmitigated success today. Big thanks to Tim for organising it, and to Steph and the other DIUS folk for being such great hosts.

I really enjoyed the Social Media Surgery, being able to give a bit of help and guidance to people who have the enthusiasm to get started with this stuff was a real joy. The impromptu social media game was slightly more stressful but I hope it was enjoyable for everyone!… Continue

Youth Citizenship Commission

From the Ministry of Justice's Governance of Britain site:

The Governance of Britain Green Paper, published in July 2007, highlighted the need for Government to engage with young people and encourage them to play an active part in British society.

The Youth Citizenship Commission was set up to examine ways of developing young people’s understanding of citizenship and increase their participation in politics.

Engaging young offenders

Here is a nice story from Colchester, via 24dash.com:

Underpasses across Colchester are being revamped with a lick of paint thanks to Colchester Borough Council’s partnership with the Colchester Youth Offenders group.
